How to calculate square footage
For a rectangular space, multiply length by width. For an L-shape or irregular room, split it into rectangles, work out each one, and add them together. We also show square yards (÷9) and square metres, since flooring and materials are sometimes priced in those units. Add a price per square foot to estimate material cost.
