Buying and laying sod
Sod is sold by the square foot, by the roll, and by the pallet — a pallet typically covers about 450 square feet. Order a little extra for trimming around beds and curves, and plan to lay it the same day it's delivered so it doesn't dry out. Prep the soil with a few inches of topsoil first for the best root-in.
