Setting posts the right way
Dig each hole about three times the width of the post and deep enough to get below your local frost line (often 36–48 inches in cold climates). We subtract the volume the post itself takes up, so you're only buying concrete for the space around it. Fast-setting concrete can often be poured dry into the hole and soaked — check the bag instructions.
