Don't forget the base
Pavers sit on a compacted base of gravel and bedding sand — usually 4–6 inches of gravel plus about an inch of sand. Budget for that material and polymeric sand for the joints on top of the pavers themselves. We add a waste allowance for the cuts you'll make around edges and curves.
