How the estimate works

We calculate the wall area (perimeter × ceiling height), subtract about 10% for doors and windows, multiply by your number of coats, then divide by the coverage per gallon and round up. Buying a little extra is wise for touch-ups.

Excludes ceilings and trim. Rough or porous walls use more paint than smooth ones.
