How much gravel do I need?

Multiply length × width × depth to get the volume, then convert to cubic yards (27 cubic feet each). Gravel weighs roughly 1.4 tons per cubic yard, so we convert to tons since suppliers usually sell and price by the ton. Order about 5–10% extra for compaction and spillage.

Weight varies by gravel type (pea gravel, crushed stone, etc.); confirm with your supplier.
