Bricks per square foot
A standard modular brick with a 3/8-inch mortar joint works out to about 7 bricks per square foot of wall face. Larger bricks need fewer; smaller ones need more. Don't forget mortar — roughly one 80 lb bag of mortar mix lays about 40–50 bricks. We add a waste allowance for cuts at corners and openings.
